DESCRIPTION

808626 CARBURETOR 23HP - NON EPA - BRIGGS

Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 23hp Engine for engine spec code below:

386447-0144-E1 before engine date code 090331500. Check the metal riveted tag on your engine cover.

You can also use this carb to replace the EPA certified carb on date codes after the one above. The EPA certified carburetor can not be adjusted and makes the 23hp engine run rough especially over 5000ft elevation. Update to this carburetor and all your idle and backfiring issues will disappear as long as you have good gas and keep fuel stabil and ethanol treatment in the fuel.

Has left and right jets accessed from the external removable hex head plugs for easy high elevation jet changes. For elevations above 5000ft use jet 841670 in left port and 693500 in the right port.

Fits Argo Atv Models:

Frontier 650 6x6
Frontier 650 8x8
HD 650 6x6

Remember the actual carburetor is mounted between the two manifolds that lead to the cylinders, the manifolds need to be removed from your old carburetor and mounted on the new carb with the supplied gaskets.
